[For Readers]
- Q: Why do you run ads on your site?
- A: Because I can.
- Q: Do you make money from the ads?
- A: Since I started awaitinginspiration.com back in 2006 I have sporadically run ads on the site but have not (as of Dec. 09) revived one penny from ad sales. It’s probably relevant to note that advertisers like Google AdSense and Amazon Associates have pay out limits ($100 I think) and though I have generated money through them, it has not been enough to reach the respective payout limits. Also, since 2006 one person has approached me about running their ad here… they never followed through.
- Q: Why do you run ads then?
- A: See the first Q. I don’t suspect (and never did) that I’ll ever receive enough traffic to generate serious income, the ads are mostly just an experiment. I didn’t start awaitinginspiration.com to make money, I started it as a creative outlet, a way to share, and because I’m a geek. Awaitinginspiration.com is a money pit, but it’s also a labor of love, if at some point awaitinginspiration.com started to generate serious money that would be cool, but I’m not holding my breath.
- Q: Do you think running ads on you site devalues it in any way?
- A: Nope.
